You deserve peace and serenity!

It is your life; you choose how you want it.  One of our human traits causes us to desire greatness; we search for what we think is happiness.  Many of us get so wrapped up in the big rat race of life that we miss the simple road to serenity, which after all is really the happy state we seek.  A serene state is impossible until we recognize we need humility.  We have grown comfortable in our skin and resist changes to our ways of approaching our life situations.  It usually takes big troubles and lots of disappointments to bring us to the realization that something needs to change.

It is this point in life’s journey that we miss the obvious, we need to change.

I can change myself…

Others I can only love!

Because of our experiences we have lulled ourselves into thinking we are powerful enough to change others.  Wow!  Have you really ever been successful at doing this, or have you or someone else fooled you?  Haven’t we always believed what we wanted to believe?  Now is the time to take a close look at the way you are.  What makes you tick, and why?

The simple solution is to become humble and admit you are powerless over most things and all other people.  What business do you have anyway trying to live someone’s life?  Isn’t it hard enough to live your own?  The choice is yours.  You will find peace, joy, happiness, and serenity when you change yourself.  Take care of yourself.  Take control of your life; be brave enough to allow a power greater than yourself to take care of everything, even you.  Do your part and your part only.  A simple well known prayer will be useful…

The Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.

What does this site do?

This site helps you learn ways to use every day experiences to increase your faith and spirit in any deity or person you choose.  Experience has shown that persons who develop these traits live happier, healthier, longer richer lives.  It is merely a way to adjust your attitude and become a more positive person.  This site can be used by persons with any desire to improve their life.  You do not have to believe in anything you don't choose.  Simplicity is the spirit some choose to lead them to belief in themselves.  This can be self-defeating as it merely increases their ego.  Humility and honesty have proven to be better ideals to acquire.  Many people choose the God of their personal understanding as a power greater than themselves.

What is spirit?

We all have various kinds of spirituality.  We are not talking about the occult, ghosts, superstitions, etc.  We are talking about your family, your school, your favorite sports team.  Don't we have Family Spirit, School Spirit, and Team Spirit?  There are many things in which we have belief and trust.  Do we thrust ourselves; can we be honest with ourselves? Sometimes that trust is not firm enough to have faith, complete faith as Webster's definition.  Before we begin let’s take a look at another very misunderstood concept.

What is faith?

The "Merriam Webster Dictionary" defines faith in several ways.

    1: allegiance to duty or a person: LOYALTY
    2: belief and trust in God
    3: complete trust
How difficult is this?  We can understand these definitions.
Can we make use of Faith, various kinds of Faith?  Only in our experiences do we develop faith in certain things.  Sometimes our faith is dashed and appears to leave us... The simple truth is we often leave it.  Faith and spirit both require time, which equates to patience.  Older persons develop additional patience due to their many life experiences, both good and bad.  Happenings in our lives are opportunities to grow both in faith and spirit.  It is up to us and our attitude to make the best of them.

How does it work?

Inside this site you will find several readings from several referenced sources to assist you in changing yourself, others you can only love.  The twelve steps developed by Alcoholics Anonymous are referenced, as well as other programs which have adapted these steps to other self-help programs.  Reference is also made to writings of spiritual authors, especially those who do not try to lead us to their personal beliefs.  Our only guide is the higher power of our personal understanding.

Choices can be simple; if we set aside our ego!

If we can master humility we can simplify everything.  The best things in life are unexpected; because there were no expectations.  What are you expecting from this Web Site?  This material will present choices.  Life is a series of choices much like streams and trees, they have many branches.  We choose the paths we take.  Some of the pages presented will require a choice to advance towards our goal; which is a change in us, to provide a deep sense of peace and serenity.  Worry is always optional.  Remember our motto...

"I can change myself, others I can only love."

Our power over others exists only in our egotistic minds.

To progress on this journey you need to choose a path most suited to you... How do you think and feel?

Your choices are:

1. Some personal higher power.  This can be anything you consider more powerful than yourself.
2. The Spiritual power of some God...  This is a personal private choice.

Easy ways to take care of yourself…

2. Be honest and humble.

3. Be willing to change.
